I apologize for the self-promotion, but this is too cool to pass up! James Holzhauer, the reigning champion of Jeopardy!, cited some of my textbooks as one place where he gathered some knowledge for his record-setting streak on the popular gameshow. He told interviewers that reading children books were part of his secret strategy and said, "I particularly enjoyed Zachary Hamby’s books on mythology." In another interview with Bookriot.com Holzhauer cited my work as well. "Holzhauer cited Mythology For Teens and Greek Mythology For Teens, both by Zachary Hamby, as two of his favorite books encountered using this strategy. 'I ended up buying both and reading them for fun,' he added." Read the full article here.
Mythology for Teens and Greek Mythology for Teens are textbooks published through Prufrock Press. While these books have the same script-stories that also appear in my self-published Reaching Olympus series, they feature chapters built around the script-stories that bring out the deeper themes in the myths. With such a wealth of good mythology books available out there, I am surprised to be mentioned! If James is listening, I appreciate the shout-out!
Cool! I love Jeopardy.
Congratulations! So cool! : )
