
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Other Stories by Washington Irving (Script-Story Collection)
Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman are two of American Literature's most famous creations, and their creator, Washington Irving, is one of America's most underrated writers. Adapting European folktales by placing them in an American setting, Irving used humor and social commentary to establish a reputation as one of America's first famous storytellers.
This collection features adaptations of Washington Irving's three most popular stories:
- The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
- Rip Van Winkle
- The Devil and Tom Walker
Each script-story is approximately 30-50 minutes and intended for use with students from 6th-12th grade. Also accompanying each script-story is a 2-page teacher guide complete with background information, summary, recall questions, teachable terms, and discussion questions.
