The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Script-Story)
This stand-alone script-story gives students an introduction to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. Since it dramatizes the first portion of Twain's novel (including the famous fence whitewashing scene), it would serve as a great introduction to reading the novel in class. In my own classroom I read this script before my students read Huckleberry Finn since the script-story introduces important characters like Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, Aunt Polly, and Sid, which will all be referenced in Huckleberry Finn. The 2-page teacher guide includes story summary, relevant background information, connections, teachable terms, recall quiz questions, and discussion questions. This download is 12 pages.
